ArchivalResource

World War II propaganda collection, 1943-1947.

The collection includes pamphlets, periodicals, broadsides, and newspapers produced by the U.S. Office of War Information and its British counterpart, the Ministry of Information (1943-1945). Some of these items are English-language documents, but many incorporate texts in other European languages, including Dutch, French, Italian, Norwegian, Russian, and Spanish, in some instances with accompanying English commentary or translations. The publications, America at War, Depuis 1939/Dal 1939, Fotorevy, La Liberation de Paris, and U.S.A., profile daily life in America and America's war effort. There are also issues of Transatlantic magazine, published by Penguin Books (1943-1946), and two softcover books: Steel in the War (1945) and The Geography of World War II (1947).
